Learn about honey bees

We're excited about bees, and you should 'bee' too! That's why we're happy to share our beekeeping knowledge and experience with kids and adults alike whenever we can.

We make ourselves available for schools, day cares, youth groups and other events in and around Loudoun County. Learn about the importance of the honey bee in our ecosystem and the many challenges they are now facing. We can explain the honey bee life cycle, their social structure inside the hive, and all of the components that make up a beehive. From flower to your local farmer's market, we'll teach you how beekeepers care for our bees, how honey is made and how we extract and bottle it for our customers.

We'll bring along all of the tools of the trade, including veils, smokers and hive tools, as well as an educational hive we can explore together. (bees not included)

If you're hosting an upcoming event, please reach out and let us know!

Take a class

Loudoun Honey is a member of the Loudoun Beekeeper’s Association, which offers a terrific Beginner Beekeeping Course every spring. It’s a great way to get introduced to honey bees and in just a few short weeks, you’ll be ready to have a hive of your own. The LBA also provides an easy way to get local bees and offers a mentor to help you throughout your first season. Visit loudounbee.org for more information.
